Garden Sparrowhawk
By Josh Harrison |

With the current lockdown I haven't been able to travel far to photograph wildlife, but luckily we do get some wildlife in the garden and even have a couple of Tawny owls living down the street although I'm yet to get a photograph of them. I was sat in the garden taking part in the #BigGardenBirdWatch2021 this week and I managed to get a few shots of our resident Sparrowhawk. I've seen it dozens of times but usually only manage to get a few distant photos through the window or I just see the Sparrowhawk shaped blur as it swoops through the garden. This time I was able to walk right into the garden to get some nice close ups. You can view more natural history photography here.
